Kenny “KT” Thurman
For more than three decades, Kenny “KT” Thurman has built his career where music actually happens — on stages, behind mixing consoles, on the road and alongside the artists who make it.
Beginning professionally in 1991, KT has worked throughout the live-music industry as a front-of-house engineer, production manager, tour manager and stage manager. That experience has taken him from clubs and concert halls to major touring productions, giving him a working understanding of music from both sides of the microphone.
Over the years, KT has worked with artists spanning country, rock, blues and roots music. His credits include work with performers such as Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker, T.G. Sheppard, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Jimmy Hall, Jack Pearson, Gary Nicholson, Billy Burnette, Al Anderson, Ty Herndon, BlackHawk, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Tim Finn, Deryl Dodd, Jamie O’Neal and many others.
The Garage East brings that lifetime of practical experience home. It is a place built around the music — a comfortable, musician-centered environment for recording, creating, experimenting and getting the sound right without losing the feel that made the song work in the first place.
KT's approach is straightforward: listen first, understand what the artist is trying to accomplish, and use the gear and experience to serve the song.
